Public feed

Every publication on Huge gets a public RSS feed, which contains all public posts (both text and audio posts).

Members and non-members can subscribe to this feed (similar to how they can read public posts on your site).

This feed can be read in RSS readers as well as in podcast players.

Podcast players filter out non-audio posts and will only display audio posts.

Public feeds can be found at yoursubdomain.huge.fm/feed/.

If you do not want to offer a public feed, you can turn it off in your Access settings.

Member feeds

Every member who signs up to your publication gets their own unique RSS feed. This feed is personal to them.

Members can find a link to their feed on the Subscribe page on your hosted site when they are logged in.

They can then add this feed URL into their favourite podcast listening app. There are options to auto-add their feed to apps that support it (Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Overcast, Downcast) or view easy instructions for adding feeds in apps that don’t currently support auto-adding feeds (Google Podcasts, Podcast Addict, Castbox, Castro, Breaker).

You can view each member’s feed from their member page in Huge.

Member feeds should not be shared. Just like with passwords, it’s not possible to stop sharing completely.

Publish to podcast directories

If you want to have your public podcast content discoverable in podcast apps, you need to submit your public feed to podcast directories.

Note: This is only useful if you plan to publish a lot of content meant for public consumption (which is totally fine on Huge, by the way!).

There are two major places you should be submitting your feed:

  • Apple Podcasts
  • Spotify

Note: Once your feed is added to Apple Podcasts, it will start appearing in many podcast apps like Pocket Casts, Overcast and Podcast Addict. If you want to speed up the process of showing up in each app, you can also submit your feed directly to these apps as well. You will find information on each app’s website.
